Hi All,

I purchased a Detached Phase 1A in October 2008 on Cranston Street. I am currently on my third delay, latest closing is December 2010 (which I believe is my "firm date" that they can't push any further without compensating).

So for those of you in 1B I would suspect delays could still occur... Good luck!

you purchased in 2008 and your house still is not ready. Wow i dont know if i would be able to wait that long for a house. Why so long?

Hi David,

As i mentioned, so far we have been pushed only once. We are in the same phase as you, but have a Jan 2011 closing. i've been driving by the survey every week, and they still haven't started any foundations for detached homes yet. Only townhomes. i might stop driving by there for a while, as it's getting depressing :)

Anyone else here on Emick Drive?

I was supposed to close April 1, 2010 as my original date. So when I purchased in Oct 2008 it wasn't THAT long (although it still felt far away!).

I've been told by Mattamy they're starting detached construction the first week of July and that my foundation should go in towards the end of the month.

Here's hoping!

We have bought a detached on Peer Court as well. 1st closing date is
April 2011, although I am preparing to move in on our 2nd closing date
of August 2011. We have heard that there were
delays in the townhouses. We have picked out our brick and are
awaiting a call to pick out the interior. The Design Center has said that
they have already started to work on Phase 2 as far as picking out your
interior. Very peaceful. Can't wait to be there! I know it is
hard with delays. I have faith in Mattamy and know that they are doing their
best. There are some situations which are really beyond their control.
Take care and please keep us updated if anyone hears more about the progress.... thanks!

going.;)

I took a drive around the survey this weekend. Some detached homes have started (lots 112 and 113) right behind the elementary school on Emick Street. Other lots behind the school have foundations in or have the holes dug. Holes for foundations have also been dug on Cranston Street.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel now!

I purchased a detached on Cranston Street. They haven't dug the foundation on my site yet. Keep delaying. A bit worry about their quality now.

I drove around the site today, saw many foundations and some detached structures going up!

Does anyone know how you figure out your lot stick since they are not labelled? Is it by the orange set of wires, the blue stick or orange stick??

thanks

That's great news Arbor2011! We were told our date of Jan 23 2011 is safe (they wouldn't guarantee it of course). Our foundation should go in around October and our frame walk-through will be in November.

Hey guys,

I just received email confirmation my house has started (and it wasn't supposed to start until early October).

At least thats good news for half the subdivision (not on the school half)

Those a-holes from Mattamy just sent us an email that our Jan 23 closing date is not possible. New closing on Mar 10, 2011. The thing i don't understand is they started framing this week. We still have 3 months to go. So that statement that they made at Mattamy U about no more pushes was a load of BS.

Anyone else get this?

Ancaster1b
2010-10-27, 04:08 PM
So i heard from Mattamy on the reason we were pushed. It was the weather....that's right, the weather. Apparently, they went a week with no production because of the rain and the flucuation between hot and cold temperatures. They also could not find another contracting company to come in and help them catch up.

According to Lori, a lot of people in phase 1b were affected by this.

Hello,

My fiancee and I purchased last January 2010 and our closing is supposed to be May 11 2011. We are Lot #90 on Kitty Murray Lane for a detached home. So far, we haven't had any notices that we are getting pushed back at all as I believe we are the last ones being built in the whole community.

We got our email about it being started a few weeks ago as well and was surprised that our foundation is in but were told the building of the house wouldn't start until January.

We're driven by many times it actually seems as though its going up much quicker now.

I just drove by the community and it looks like 90% of the foundations are in. Mine however is not :( Does anyone know if it is too cold to be putting in foundation?

We have a place on Peer Court for March 17, and we are reaching the 90 day deadline to be told of any delays and nothing yet. We were told last week that we were ahaed of schedule, but after reading these posts I'm not feeling to sure. We have 3/4 of a frame with just a roof to go right now. They were working today (sunday) on framing when drove by so maybe they are catching up?

Hi All,

We bought detached on Roelfson Dr. Originally slated to close in September, we have been pushed twice and now are expecting close on the 23rd of February.

Hard to say if this will happen. They just finished the brick, but there seems like a lot of work to do?

How have the frame walks been going?

Hi everyone,

I have recently started my own Interior Decorating business.
Moving into a brand new home there is a lot to do such as window treatments, purchasing furniture, space planning and even painting! Moving into a sub division it's always nice to add personal touches to your house to make it feel like your home. Since I moved into a brand new house I feel like I relate to a lot of your needs and priorities.
