View Full Version : OT: Riverside South houses with open garage doors = swingers?

Hey folks, just something lighthearted and completely OT on this fine fall holiday.

I heard from a colleague that houses with open garage doors in Riverside South = an invitation for swinging activities. I find it hard to believe but he swore by it and even told me one of his acquaintance has been propositioned in the past. Certainly remind me of that scene in *Old school* where the guy knocked on the door for a party...but I digress.

Just wondering if there's any truth to this? and is this restricted to Riverside South only?

I've heard the same thing about Sittsville! Though, I think I heard it was just if they were partially open? LOL.

There is only one way to find out if or not it's true :)

I heard this too, and no one believes me! I have a couple neighbours that do this right now and knowing the little i do about them now I could totally see them being swingers.

When I heard this it was in regards to all locations, towns, provinces etc. and it IS ONLY IF THE DOOR IS PARTIALLY OPEN,

Don't know if it is true but we just make sure the door is closed just in case!

Any swingers out there, want to confirm this theory? ;)

I've never heard this before - but maybe its cause we're not part of the 'secret club'.
I sure hope its not true, just in case I forget to close my garage door! Don't want people knocking on our door ;)

I also heard that which way you park your car in the driveway shows which way you.... oh never mind, I'm sure you can work it out! ;)

Awesome post! Whether it means they're swingers or not I really don't care, I just want to know why people do this. I live in RS and can confirm that a large percentage of people feel the need to leave their garage doors open 90% of the time. It looks so tacky, and I have no clue what the rationale is for this. Anybody have any idea what this is all about?????? It is on my top 5 list of unsolved mysteries of the world...

BHAHAHA....must show this to my bf...he often leaves the garage door partially open....

Oh my gosh, really?

We often have our garage door partially open as the kids go in and out to get their toys and bikes, etc. Won't be anymore! :D
We're actually finally having our automatic opener installed today, so it will be a lot easier to just open and close the door rather than leave it partway open for a couple hours.

I never heard of it before.

I have left it open few times after I mow my lawn to get rid of smell of the grass or if I have something else stinking my garage.

I always thought people leave their door open to get rid of some unwanted odor.

One explanation would be smokers who smoke in their garage and do not want to fully open the door as it would be too windy. I know a few people that do this and that might explain some of the garage doors partially open.

I smoke in my garage so U tend to leave it open about 6 inches to 1 foot all the time to allow the smell and smoke to escape.

I live in Riverside south and I'm not sure if there is any truth to this ? we keep our garage door closed most of the time but never partially open.

I have noticed that my neighbors directly beside have their garage door opened partially sometimes. I asked them about it and they said its due to the smell from the green box. ;)

I think this whole thing about garage doors paritally open = swingers is a total sham.

Although to be 100% sure I will goto my neighbors house with my swinging gear next time the garage door is open :D
