Construction Start Date
I noticed that construction start date is listed as Mar 2013. The agent however mentioned construction will start in Oct. Do you also have March listed as construction start date ?

NewPurchaser 2012-10-04 07:04 PM

We have August 2013 as a construction start date, with a closing date of February 2014.

For homes with construction commencing in October 2012, the closings are likely to be April 2013.

Hi everyone, I just bought from Starlane too. Has anyone been contacted for their first appointment with the decor center yet? The sales rep toldme theywould be calling people in 2-3 weeks.

I believe upgrade appointments will be based on construction start date. Anyone closing in Apr should get their appointment soon.
I also heard Starlane is charging 50% of the upgrade cost upfront. Only 50% of upgrades can be added to the mortgage. Is this true ? anyone ?

Yes they have started calling for Decor appointment...We are scheduled for Wednesday

Newhomebuyer101 2012-10-10 09:45 AM

Yes, I believe they will be asking for some sort of pre-payment on the upgrades, as the welcome letter sent by Starlane indicated that they will schedule second-round decor appointments only after the electrical and plumbing upgrades have been "duly paid and documented." I don't know how much of a payment they would be asking for though (50% vs. 100%).

Newhomebuyer1.... Would you be able to share your experience after you have your first decor center appointment?

newhomebuyer1 2012-10-11 11:22 PM

Overall decore experience is good...friendly staff and patient to provide options...However exorbitant price on upgrades...Each variation cost money...Basic offerings are limited on choices...If you get kitchen, living room, electrical and plumbing upgrades...talking about 25K +
