White Kitchen: Chocolate or White Island?? Help please...

We will have hardwood in the kitchen--a chocolate stain and vanilla cabinets (with brownish/beige quartz counter). What do you think would look better for the island? Chocolate colour to match the floor or vanilla to match the cabinets?

I appreciate your feedback please as I am having such a difficult time making this decision! Thanks in advance!:)

On another note...what do you prefer? white or off-white "vanilla" cabinets?

I personally prefer white upper cabinets and chocolate lower cabinets and island because that is what I will do in my kitchen. Cream is ok too, but having seen it in person I prefer the white. But an all white kitchen is TOO white for me.

See a pic with a mixture of the two:

Hope it helps! :)

I like the first pic also. :)

I took the first picture and when I saw the dark island I thought that it looked very nice. I think that it makes a nice statement because of the size. Might not look as striking with a smaller island.

My preference are off white cabinets (not too yellow though). More relaxing feeling in the kitchen.:). Pure white I find a bit too clinical.

We're doing pic #1- wood floors, dark island, off white cabinets. Good luck!

This is the same decision I'm making for my house.
I love the first one - but I'm also afraid I'll get sick of it. Also, we have our hardwood lined up to install after closing, so its hard to know exactly what the colour differences/tones will be.
I thought I prefered 'white-white' kitchens, but now find them too stark. We are going for 'biscotti' which is more of an off-white. Their 'vanilla' shade of cabinetry is in between a classic off-white and white. Might be a good option for you to check out!

What colour are you doing the backsplash? Do all of the elements tie in together? Doing a chocolate island might help break down the contrast a bit.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Fingers: we are still figuring out backsplash. One possibility is a grayish/cream colour 4x4 tiles. The other possibility is a brown glass subway tile.
I may do the backsplash after closing, not sure.
Here are some possibilities:

Feel free to suggest other options.
Thanks:)

Love the brown glass subway tile!
Then again, I love ANY glass subway tile :D

Brown Island and 1st picture for the backsplash :) This is what I would chose ;)
