It was for the iron spindles (same as Whitney), but just the spindles with the modern railings. We didn't do it, it was too much.

Ok, so got pricing back, and upgraded railings are a serious NO!

2 of 5x5 Panel Posts at bottom of Stairs at base of stairs and 3x3 posts as secondarys - there are two prices listed. $2075.00 and $2940.00

3 PC Caps price separate - and from what I've heard they are ~$500/piece.

Well, it was a nice idea, but no thanks...

I'm confused between the two prices

Me too. The way it is written, it looks like the $2940 price lines up with the next line that says "3 PC Caps Price Separate".
Just confusing... that being said, I'm still not paying for it. That's the difference between me getting my dream kitchen or not. Kitchen wins :D

ETA - ok, that IS the pricin for the caps. Figure $525 each and we need 6... Boooooo!

Having a contractor change the railing after closing doesn't sound like it would be a problem at all.. plus it'll probably cost half what Tartan wants to charge.

Especially if you've had to remove the railing in the past to try and fit furniture downstairs - it definitely is possible.
The only issue is the stain I suppose...
