Update on this. I managed to successfully move the 6" take off and relocate it to the top of the curved trunk. It was a major pain to cut the sheet metal in the confined space but got it done.

Don't worry about it. It can handle A LOT! I'd be more concerned you're using the correct fasteners/wood screws to hold the bracket.

At the very minimum I would of liked to see the mold resistant drywall used in a shower.
