I think it just depends on when you install your AC unit. If you don't have grass, they prefer to mount it to the house, but if you have grass then you have the option to place on slab.....someone...

DOn't glass shower doors usually swing both ways? Mine does and all i do is pull the door open (Not push) and then reach in and turn the shower on before i get in.

I don't know where you're located but I got mine from Billa Appliances. the price i got was cheaper than Costco and they will order what you want, colour and all.

Right off the bat i should say that i may be a bit biased because i own a 36" Bluestar. however, I think you'll get much more value out of a Bluestar. Based on what i've seen from customer reviews...

Very nicely done. As for fireplace vs wallpaper. I vote for wallpaper but nothing too jarring. It's nice to have a fireplace but you'd be blocking a good portion of it from view with that big chair....

we had the same issue when our house was being built. In our master bath the tub is in the middle of the room and they put the heat register directly in front of the tub. I made a big stink about it...

Agreed. I would definitely choose 10-8 ove 9-9. Ceiling height is most important on the main level...or basement if you have big plans for it. The bedrooms are fine with 8....although to me 10-9...
