Cut out the hole for the speaker. You will be cutting the vapour barrier, so no saving that.

You will either need to peel out a layer of insulation or compress it as best as possible so the speaker can physically fit.

Get some 6mil plastic and fit it in the hole so that it can fit the depth.

Peel the existing vapour from around the inside of the hole, it's between the drywall and the insulation and then tape it to the new plastic you just put in. Use 3M Tuck Tape, the red stuff.

Put your speaker in place and enjoy.

How to get the wire in place is a whole other lesson.
