Default How much would you expect to pay for light installation?

We are installing a light fixture (large but light and its already assembled and in one piece) but the room is open to above so the electrician would have to use a very tall ladder to get to the ceiling and the light is in the middle of the room so you could not lean the ladder against the wall. Any thoughts?

A minimum of $130, providing they have the ladder.

I paid I think about $300 but the chandelier is quite heavy so the electrician had to go to the attic to add a 2 x 6 for reinforcement.

Guy was almost 70 years old, about 5'3" but was fearless going up to about 19 ft. He was standing on the top rung of the ladder, you know, the one that usually says, "don't step in here".:-)

We were so impressed by him that we added $80 in tip. I hope he will still be working when we decide to replace two more fixtures by the foyer.

Greg, do you by chance know anyone who would be able to mount this light fixture for us? I believe I paid the builder $100 for the reinforcement when we bought our home. The fixture is pretty light though and in one piece.

Lex_rx your family room looks great - love your fixture. i will post a pic when we the fixture is up

So I've done a search on this site for Electricians where people were looking for recommendation in Newmarket and Stouffville and not a single response!!!! How is that possible that no one has used an electrician they can recommend in York Region??

We've used a great electrician for hanging our foyer chandelier in our 13ft ceiling and did some other electrical work. He's really good and charges a very fair price. Send me a PM if you're still looking.
