Default Finishing basement before 2 years

Hello

I haven't moved into my new home yet, but I am moving out of one with a finished basement and having one is awesome. What are the implications of finishing the basement after only one year? Is the only thing ("only" not used lightly) the foundation warranty?

I'm approaching my three years and during the thaw last weekend, I found a very small puddle of water in my basement. Went outside and there is a crack down the side. If my basement was finished, I would have never known it was leaking but I'm sure I would have noticed the crack on the outside eventually.

The lowest risk of warranty complications comes from waiting until 2 year warranty is finished.

Because you are changing/adding to electrical, plumbing, hvac components, exterior wall insulation, joist and subfloor, interior walls and basement flooring all warranties for all this could be a problem.

There is no safe or perfect time for 'something might leak'.
