Basement Finishing and Renovations Has it been 2 years already? Time to work on finishing the basement into some extra living space.

yes that is true, vapour barrier is required, however R value is relative to thickness of rigid....

1/2 = 3
1 = 6
1.5 = 9
2 = 12

Example I have 1" + roxul = R19

I was looking into the strapping method and found this.

If code allows it in burlington I would seriously consider it. I dont think I need too much more wall insulation than the added foam board. The basement is warm as it is without the foam maybe because Im so above grade. Also, I am putting tyroc on the floor which I believe is R3.1.
