Default Monarch Builder in Stonebridge

I'm strongly considering building with Monarch at Stonebridge, Barrhaven. Would anyone have any experience with this builder. Would you rate it positivelly. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Check www.rateyourbuilder.com for ratings on them. I remember reading positive and negative things. You should also go knock on doors of previous buyers, that would be your best bet.

The main thing to consider is that stonebridge is under the airport runway path and air traffic is only going to increase in the future...

Make SURE you get EVERY single price for each upgrade option BEFORE you buy. Monarchs prices for upgrades are quite high. If any builder will NOT provide you with pricing before you sign then you should consider buying from a builder who will.

I have a few friends who own houses in Stonebridge built by Monarch

They have been generally happy with them and nothing negative to talk about so far.

Their prices, however, are higher than other builders. I guess the old cliche holds true again: *You get what you pay for*. I almost fell for Claridge with their *promotions*

Maybe our next house would be in Stonebridge. For now, Monarch is out of our league, price-wise.

We are also seriously considering building with Monarch in Stonebridge (as well as with Mattamy if and when Halfmoon Bay ever opens )

The Monarch prices are higher for sure than Mattamy but it may be worth it when we consider what we are getting. For example the home we are considering has a base price approximately 30k more than Mattamy for 2000 square feet but it has a double garage, 40 foot lot, 9 foot ceilings and an "oasis" type ensuite - however that 30k is really pushing our budget so it will be a big decision...

We visited the Monarch design centre and were able to get some details on upgrade pricing which were definately expensive - even when compared to the crazy prices other builders charge. The designer was not able to give us any kitchen details as they outsource but she did tell us that "no one spends less than 10k on their kitchen".
