![]() TLDR: screw in my tire from construction site- will they replace it? I discovered a screw in my tire this afternoon! Someone knocked on our door this morning asking us to move my vehicle so they can start work on installing a sidewalk, so I moved it past all the construction work onto another street ( also under construction). When I left for work a few hours later my tire pressure sensor was flashing at me and I had a flat! I've emailed the builders community coordinator already, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this. Thanks in advance. |

Happened to me last year when I went around to look at my house's progress. I just went ahead to fix it myself, and not bothered contacting the builder. After that episode, I make sure to really be in the middle of the road while driving in the construction zone.

I was able to get my builder to pay for patching my tire after rolling over a screw at the end of my driveway. I took pics of the screw in the tire and the screws that I had collected around my house and they were the same.
Did the screw go through the sidewall? This is the only reason you would need to get it replaced.

It's so weird. I have been doing new construction warranty inspections for over 10 years and every week I pick up a nail or two from a driveway or street and yet over all that time I have never had a flat tire.
Better keep my CAA because I bet I'll get a flat as soon as I drop it.

ok so it was more like a slow leak but visibly less air in it.
The builder advised to provide them with the receipt for the patch and they would review at that time. it was a drywall screw I think! thanks for the replies! |
