Default Summit Park

Hi,

We recently purchased a home in the new Summit Park sub-division. I would be interested in hearing from other people who purchased here and how your experience has been so far. Our foundation has not yet been poured. Our closing date is February 23, 2006. Hopefully, they will be pouring it soon!

Default Sumit Park

We have actually taken possession of our home now. We are quite happy with it and the after sales service we have received from the builder. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them.

Default New Summit Park Owner

Hi

Not much activity here, hope it is because there are no real issues with the Summit Park development?

I have a question around some of the public facilities - such as storm drains, easements, community mailboxes, etc - how are these generally decided on by proximity to new homes in the area?

e.g. can one house be the unfortunate recipient of a supermailbox on their front lawn, with a hydro box and storm drain as well - or are these generally spread out and placed in non-obtrusive locations?

Do you know ahead of time during construction if you're going to have one situated on your property?

Cheers

You can ask your sales rep where most of this will be placed. They have the main plans in their office. The plans will have the proposed locations of these devices and they will rarely change.

I purchased from Summit Park in Oct of Nov and will close in July 2012.

I know a few people that live their, and a few people that will be moving in and all is good so far.

I have a catch basin on my lot now, and would not buy another house with one. I made sure that it is not on my lot this time. Of course things can change, but the proposed locations are usually pretty accurate.

Thanks for the quick reply and update. We're pretty pumped about moving into this location. So if we're going to sign a contract we may consider stipulating some of that then...I guess we shall see!

Cheers

You wont be able to stipulate it in the contract. Highly unlikely they will do that. But they will show you their site plan before you sign and when you are choosing which lot.

I imagine so. If anything we would probably have our lawyer look over the agreement as a precaution. If I'm signing something written by a lawyer, best to have another tell me what it is I'm signing.

I'll post regularly here for anyone's interest sake on how our process goes.

And if yourself or anyone else is moving or has moved into the Summit Park Multi-Home Development, would be interested in hearing about your experiences.

Haven't checked in here in awhile, partly because the process slows down a bit between signing and waiting for the closing date.

We've done all our options, edits and add-ons for the home, getting pumped now as we're almost in the home stretch (May 2012 closing). The process was relatively painless - word of advice is to set a budget going into the changes and stick to it....it's really easy to get carried away.

Also can't wait to get the great room pre-wired for sound/video - that's one of the must-haves...a room done right for HT.
