Post How is the Stouffville/Toronto commute?

Hello folks....

I'm seriously thinking of buying a house in the Wheler's Mill development, and I wondered if anyone could give me any thoughts/opinions/hints on the commute to downtown Toronto?

I'm interested in hearing about both driving and taking the train or bus.

Any input is appreciated....thanks!

Either method takes me just over 1:15 each way. And that is going to leslieville. If anyone is interested in car pooling, let me know.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to (a) drive to Queen and John in rush hour trafficl and (b) the time to take the go train plus subway or walk over to Queen & John.

Thanks much!

Stouffville Road & 10th Line taking Elgin Mills across to 404. 404 to Fairview Mall (Don Mills & Finch). Sheppard Subway to Yonge Subway. Yonge Subway to Yonge & Bloor.

To work: 1hr 15 mins leaving at 6:55 a.m.

Home: 1hr 15 mins leaving at 4:10 p.m

GO train would be the same or a little longer.

How do you find Elgin Mills? I would recommend Major Mack. That's what I take to the 404 or Leslie and I don't find the traffic bad at all. I don't leave until 7:30/7:40 or thereabouts and it's still not bad!

I commute to Pearson Airport... +- 1 hour each way. I also take Major Mack to 404 and it is usually pretty good (I leave around 7am). The only iffy part of the trip is the Finch to 401 exit strech.

Default Stouffville to Downtown

I take the train to Union and walk up to Richmond. about 1 hour and 15 min.
Gobus takes the same amount of time. But lately, there have been a lot of delays with the Stouffville line.

Elgin Mills is quiet, but with all the stop signs and no lights, waiting to cross can sometimes take extra time. We were going to try Major Mac as well to see how it is.
