But it's not available in 7" size only 5".

Thanks again. What is the difference in terms of quality between, character, estate, and select that vintage offers?

Patrob,

What exactly is the "pearl" finish for Vintage maple taboo? It looks glossy from your photo, but I don't recall it being that glossy on the sample I saw.

Does Maple taboo come in any other finishes? A more matte one?

Thanks

And further, does Taboo come in handscraped?

Just a quick question. We do like hand scraped floors but wonder what happens when it comes time to refinish the floors. Are they refinished the same a regular hardwood floors? I have a friend who just had their floors (non hand scraped) refinished and the floors came out looking as good as they did when they were new. But with hand scraped I assume that when you refinish them they lose that hand scraped look?

It's just the way the light shines, it's not glossy at all.
Pearl finish has 22% of gloss vs. semi-gloss (standard) is 48%.
The only other finish is Oil finish but on naturals only.

The quality (milling & finish) is all the same, it's just the grading of the wood.
The Hand Scraped only comes in Character grade.

Of course it's more expensive because it's really Hand Scraped (not by machine) so the extra labour costs.

Once you re-finish hand scraped floors, you lose the scraping, it becomes smooth like regular floor.
But there are re-finishers that will re-finish the floors with scraping, of course for an extra cost.
