Default PDI Booked....Any tips

OK so Sundial emailed me yesterday for my PDI date. FYI, they only offer one day option. Didn't offer me anything other than next thursday with 2 time options...Weird. But I took whatever they gave me.

So I guess they gave themselves 2 weeks before my closing of June 1.

Went by the site last night, and it seems my house is still not presentable..No carpet yet, front lawn is a mess with crap. And i can't see if my kitchen has been installed as it's on the upper level...lol

Any tips for those who have closed?? Or things that you can pass on you learned in your PDI with Sundial?

I've been called for PDI also, closing date June 30, but the inspection is on June 14th. I was advised to not have any home inspector on this visit. I'll have 30 days after my possession date to send a report...and believe me it's better this way. That's how we did for our current house. We call the home inspector after the PDI. Don't forget, you have only 3 hrs during the PDI.

pffft 3 hours. I was told I have a max of 1.5 hours for mine, and they are only allowing the people on the title of the home to attend....

WHO said you can't have an inspector? TARION certainly does allow you. I would like to have an independent review of the home by an expert so that the builder cannot say that I did certain things (ie damage) or that this or that is not important.

Plus, my inspector INCLUDES the 30 day and does not want to be paid til it's done and explained to my FULLEST satisfaction.

No no sorry they DO allow an inspector of course. But I can't bring someone with me to the inspection..Like pretty much he is my inspector..

They are saying only myself is allowed cause i am the only one on the title..Stupid like I don't wanna go on my own

No, that can't be true. My husband and I are both on the title, and I also brought my dad with me as he is very knowledgeable with construction. They didn't seem to have any problem with it. Mind you, I didn't ask before hand, we all just showed up.

You can bring anybody on the PDI, even inspector, but I don't think it's a very good idea. You have 1.5hrs, do you think this is enogh time for him to check on everything ? We have 3 hrs and I still don't think, that's enogh. We have 30 days to file a report and I'll do it after my closing date.

I can't believe they won't let you bring someone else! I would want to bring my parents and possibly my sister to the PDI. As a first-timer - I would have no idea what to look for!
