Primarily an inheritance. Straight up, that's why we can afford where we live. Otherwise, no way. We could be in a little semi-detached, but not in this place.
Talking to people our age and younger, without any real estate in their names, it almost impossible to go from renting to buying. I see people so happy their home values are continually rising, but to me it's an ongoing problem that is getting worse.
