Front door improperly installed - security issue?

My builder installed my front door with the trim & screw covers on the exterior side of the door....so basically someone could walk up, pop out the screw covers and screws and remove the glass from the front door.

Is this not a security issue that should be fixed asap? It won't be fixed for another month they said..

I would say so. Escalate to your builder...that's not right

Where I am exterior door installations have been a real challenge for builders, especially the large builder ( who we all know ) for many years. After all, installing an exterior door takes time, skill, and finesse. Most of the time the weatherstrip does not compress when the door is closed. Your case takes the cake, or at lease a cupcake, and it just goes to show that site supervision is lacking at many sites.

I would ask Tarion for their advice. Push for a prompt repair via an email to the builder and in a nice way also state that in the unfortunate case of a robbery then you will need to hold them responsible.

It is installed incorrectly.

Is is a security issue? Honestly, it would be faster and easier just to kick the lock in.
It's not that difficult to do.

^ I think the screws used the secure the doors window frame are on the exterior instead of facing the interior. Very true, not likely a security issue but should be noted as a 30 day issue.
