Default Type of Caulking?

I am looking to seal from the inside any drafts coming in from the headers in the basement I would like to use some cauking because it is cheaper than spray foam and then fill the header with the pink insulation and vapour barrier.

This is a new home that I am trying to cut down on some drafts that are coming from the headers.

What type of cauking would you suggest? Is a GE Silicone 2 caulking appropriate to use or should I be looking at a polyurethane or butyl rubber type of caulking?
