Canavac has this page with a good comparison between some of the models:

http://www.canavac.com/node/20

Despite supervac's comments which seem to indicate the 399LS might be better than the 700LS, everything on the canavac site seems to indicate the 700-LS is a better model all around (bigger motor, more airflow, more airwatts, quieter).. The only spec it was slightly lower in is it has slightly less suction (132" vs 136") but that seems negligible, especially when you consider it has 44% more airflow; and the "Infinity Technology". I'll keep looking for reviews comparing the two models..
The question at the end of the day, though, is do you need it. The 399LS is incredibly powerful, has a great warranty, has great accessories...

Thanks Lori for this research. I think we will be in on the group buy. We will get in touch with Supervacs.

The 399LS has a slightly more powerful motor in it.

The key factor to look at for motors is inches of water lift. This shows how the motor performs under a load.

Airwatts is useless as that is the number associated with sucking the air out of the room as opposed to crap off the floor.

Decisions, decisions. All things considered, which one would you recommend for the same price Greg? If I understand correctly, the 399LS motor is slightly stronger, but the 700LS is 3dB quieter (doesn't 3dB equate to it bring half as loud? If so, that's pretty significant, especially for those with a basement install).

Keep in mind while the quieter the better...you'll only really be using it for 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon once or twice a month. Not really a big deal.

Once or twice a month? That sounds dreamy! I think I'd like to live at your house! Too many kids and pets at mine obviously!

Good point. I'm sure both models are great. Just hard to decide which is better for the same price.

All warranty info added for the 700LS.

I asked SuperVacs why they were only offering one year warranty on labour for the 700LS (as opposed to five with the 399LS), and they explained that since they're matching VacMaster's price for the 700LS, they're also matching the warranty offered by VacMaster -- only one year on labour.

An additional four years of warranty, for a total of five years of warranty for labour, can be added for $50.
