Default Replacement Windows from Mason

Has anyone had their windows swapped out yet in Riverside South? We had them come in and all the windows except the basement will have to be replaced? If you have, how are they?

That's one heck of a job. Have they explained the scope of the work that they are preforming? Usually all the window trim work will have to be removed and re-installed. Re-installing usually requires filling nail holes, sanding, priming, re-painting, caulking around the walls and touching up the wall paint.

They'll only be removing the window panes, they'll be leaving the window frame and trim in place. I've seen them replace a window of ours that broke before our PDI and there are clips that run the entire length of the window that keeps it in place to the frame

Of course. That is what happened when I had a cracked glass in one of my windows.

Default Issues with windows

I am assuming you guys are all built after 2016?

We are also a bunch of Urbandale homeowners in RSS on FB looking to get our defective MASON windows replaced under warranty.

I hope they are changing all your windows?

Are they replacing them with MASON windows or a different manufacturer?

Thanks folks!

What's the name of the group?

Also, what's the relevance of 2016?

I am asking because I was told they extended the warranty on the MASON windows for house build 2016 to present.

Here is the group, feel free to join, we are a bunch who just realized this issue is widespread.

Indigo - Can you please send a link to the FB page? Somehow I can't find it (Can PM me).

I'm dealing with this issue for 4 years. They put in place defective windows. Almost all the windows they replaced are defective. It's easiest to see that with windows they replace in Oct/Nov, when the cold sets in and immediately the fog sets in.

Their customer service is the worse. The keep saying the size of the windows are in back-order, and we were dragged for almost a year. Many times they set a time for a teach to show, and they just don't show up, or come with the wrong size window.
The list can go on and on.

I know from someone who worked for them that this is an issue in many homes, especially Riverside South.
