Default Installation of backwater valve to protect basement from flooding?

Has anyone looked into this when building a new home?

Looks like a good idea to prevent sewer backflow.

I read somewhere about sewer backflow valves so I asked for the upgrade.
It only cost us about $120. It's the rectangular box that you see in this picture.

Thanks so much. Mind if I ask who your builder was? Please PM if you're not comfortable posting.

I'm hoping mine doesn't try to rip me off...
