Quick update:

1) i was wrong about the sump pump, its a back up valve
2) minto said they cant close on our homes unless the siding is done. However, the entire city is having a very hard time finding workers for siding, hence the delays, and inspectors are allowing them to close on homes that are mostly done.

What's going on in Avalon?

Phase 2 is being released in phases itself. Should be okay.

Sorry for the late reply.

Delays, yes, but also many, many homes that were closing with unfinished interiors. Missing tile, holes in cabinets, missing cabinets, unpainted walls, etc.

well, we had a friend who bought in avalon, and we had our foundation before he did and he was closing on his home months before us. i think they prioritized the work in mahogany over other developments...

So houses can be delivered to the homebuyer in these conditions? Is there any thing homeowners can do about this? This means time off our own work schedule to be present for fixing these issues that should have been there upon delivery.

I wss told city inspectors are letting it slide if theres 75% done because the season has been so bad.

Edit: sorry this is in reference to the exterior. Not sure about interior.

No worries.

My concerns still stand. I've heard of people getting their houses without closet doors installed. I know it's not a big deal, and I can live with that. My only gripe is that now I have to take time off work to be present for them to complete this work.

Happy to report that they have started adding the 2 by 4 wood planks to the outside of our homes in preparation for the siding!
