We are # 151 - the corner lot. It's a Mayfair

Hi Neighbors!
We visited the construction site during the long weekend. Our future home is in a relatively advanced phase: roof finished, windows installed, HVAC installed, electrical in work, no drywall, no veneers yet.
BTW the houses down the street (Longworth Ave.) Lots 100-104, seemed to be in the same advanced stage as ours.
There is a new HN-model home in Cowan's grove. It's a Mayfair in the same exterior colours as ours (Package 2), but the layout is mirrored. Still, it's a great chance to see it finished - https://hnhomes.com/galleries-model.html
Our hard hat tour is in 2 weeks. We have several structural changes we'll be looking at.
I have a question: we plan to have a home inspector during the HHT. Is this a common practice and would you do it?
Regards!

Visited the site in the weekend and saw your house, it looks good! Congratualation again neighbour. If it's just like the model home, later on it'll look awesome for sure.

104, only got the basement done, ALREADY. We are so happy! Glad we picked HN once again

BTW Did you make any significant structural changes?

I saw there is a thread where you can ask question to a home inspector. May be you can ask your question there?

Keep posting your updates. Loving reading them. May be we can open another thread to connect other neighbours?

Hi! Thank you for answering!
Our house is not exactly as the model home, because ours is a corner model: we have more brick on the long side to the street and a couple of additional windows. But yes, the colours are the same.

We did several: we moved the closet from the entrance area to the back wall of the garage (in front of mud room) and in this way got a nice, square entrance vestibule. In the second floor we remodeled all the walk-in closets, especially those in the master br. Now we have one big walk-in closet there. Moved couple of doors, things like this. We have also chosen a fully finished basement, not just rough-ins, so there are some modifications as well.

I saw a specific thread were people were talking during which tours to have a home inspector, but I can't find it anymore. I'll check again.
Regards!

Thank you!
I was thinking of this article before, but it's mostly about PDI, 30-days and 1-year inspection.

We did a few as well.
Grateful to HN for allowing us all to make these changes to customize our homes.

Front Porch with additional pot lights
Linen closet was removed
Re-modeled the washroom to add doors. Changed closets spacing and used pocket doors to retain same space feel.
Changed location for basement windows and enlarged them.

Hi.

Did you receive a mail when your home construction started, even before the hard hat tour?

Yes, we did. It was a few weeks (less than a month) after we've signed all adjustment letters (and after the interior design/low voltage/high voltage meetings). The exact text was something like :"We want to inform you that we have commenced construction of your new home."
Did you receive a similar email?
