Default Rogers House Call?

We had Rogers in last week to connect everything (TV, Internet, Phone) and then I went and got a router so I could have wireless access at home. The guy that was here made it sound like a simple switch, but we don't know what the heck we're doing. We now have lost our phone service. Anyway, does Rogers charge to come out and plug in the router and any other jacks we messed up somehow? Any chance they do it as a courtesy call? I'm sure they will charge, but anyone know how much? I bet it would be a 2 minute job for them, but I'm wondering if they have a minimum service charge fee.

As much as I love the new house, I must say, it is a little frustrating at times trying to get everything in working order.

Advice to the non-techie types

Before you start pulling cables out and all that, get your digital camera and take pictures of the way thing are connected.

To the OP, to get things back to normal for now, just disconnect the router, and plug the rogers wires into your modem

Hey sarcol27, I took a pic of mine when I rewired everything. It's still a rat's nest but a smaller one.

You should have a coax cable going into your phone box (bottom left corner in my pic). Then the phone line from the phone box goes to the switch (upper right) into the line in port.

Rogers provides you with a telephone adapter for their telephone service.

This is a box with a couple of blinkenlights on it.

TV cable plugs into it as well as a telephone cord.

The telephone cord should connect to your house jacks, and should never ever be removed under penalty of lost phone service.

Thanks everyone!
Yes, I should have taken a picture--I thought of that after!
Thanks BrianT for the photo. It helps to see it visually.
I'll give it another try tonight.
