Default upgrades

I have a few questions about some upgrades and wanted to know if it would be better to do it myself or pay the builder.

Does any know the cost of the below items:

heated floors
coffered ceiling
waffled ceiling
maple 4" x 3/4" prefinished vintage line hardwood floor
steel spindles
plaster crown moulding

heated floors : I think will be expensive to do later and probably will be tougher
coffered ceiling : better to do with builder

maple 4" x 3/4" prefinished vintage line hardwood floor : Better to do later
steel spindles : It should be okay to do later but you will have to bear double cost first staining of wood spindles and then replacing with Iron (so better with builder)
plaster crown moulding : Will be xpensive with builder

** Ask for prewiring for sound system. Not sure about pot light wiring if that is possible (hidden) later but for sure you will have more choices later

It will be easier for the builder to do your coffered ceiling & iron pickets. The waffled ceiling can be done later but you would be avoiding a lot of mess by going through the builder.

But I will def. tell you installing your Vintage hardwood floors after closing will be much cheaper Let me know what colour of maple you are looking for & I will be happy to provide you with a price

Also plaster crown mouldings can easily be done after closing for less $$. We just had ours installed in December Here are some pics

Anything is possible later.. however the costs may be higher for a fireplace. You will need a gas line run, possibly a larger gas service to the house, and the fireplace will have to be in the room as opposed to flush with the wall.

we're on the fence to have a full frameless glass shower ... it's quite pricey from the builder, but is it possible to do afterwards? if so, would be be a ton cheaper? worth it?
