![]() This might be a very dumb question but here goes! We have been in a new-build Tamarack home for 11 years and have a gas range. We would like to switch to a dual-fuel range and from my research online I have learned that switching may require an upgrade in our electrical wiring since the gas relies on 120 v and the electric will need 240 v. When the house was built we did not specify to the builder what kind of range we are putting in so I am wondering if there is already the capacity for 240 v as a standard. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thank you in advance. |

You should be able to confirm by pulling out your stove and checking out the plug but if you don't want to do this then, check your electrical panel. The stove breakers should take up two spots, 120 V each.

Generally when you upgrade to GAS, they don't remove the electric stove plug.
Should be back there. |
