Question Over the air channels/free to air how to?

Hello everyone,

Just looking for some advice and/or input on how to get over the air channels.
I have 2 newer tv's, one purchased in 2007 and another purchased in 2010 or 2011.
Anyways im trying to get the free to air channels on them and am having no luck picking up any channels through the tv itself.

I live just outside Ottawa

Is there anyone out there who is using just a basic antenna, or a receiver? I would love to hear your feedback about this.

I've done some research and there are so many options out there. I really dont want to go out an get an antenna to put on my roof. I'd much rather something smaller but i'd like to get some feedback of individuals using this before I purchase something.

Any advice and feedback would be appreciated

Thanks

We picked up a cheap antenna from Walmart, figuring that even if we didn't get many channels, it wouldn't be a huge cost to try it out.

We live in Ottawa near the Rideau Carleton Raceway and
wWe get CBC, CTV, OMNI 1, OMNI 2, some french channels, CTS, and I think one or two other channels. If you have your antenna pointed out a window into an area without obstructions, you are more than likely to get better reception.

We found a 'flat' antenna on amazon that we could hide behind our LCDtv on the wall. It cost a bit more than the cheap antenna at Walmart, but it does the same job.

Depending on where you are, you may be able to get CityTV
