Default Russound CAA66

Thoughts on the CAA66? Not looking to do something really fancy, I just want an affordable multi-room home audio system that works well.

Greg, you install quite a bit of Russound stuff, right?

Are the basic KP6 keypads solid? How is the controller? At this point I plan to plug in my airport express to stream iTunes as well as our Rogers PVR. I have three zones, soon to be five.

There are some great deals out there, especially compared to the Channel Plus MDS-6A system I was considering. Ebay has it for ~ $1200 after shipping and duty.

I read a lot on AVSForums but they seem to be real Control4 junkies. Nothing bad said about the CAA66 though from what I could see - people just didn't like having to get up to go to the wall plate.

I install more Crestron than I do Russound, but I do sell and install Russound systems too.

Russound always makes a pretty solid product. They are very simple in their design and their quality is quite good. I think Russound is still #1 when it comes to multi-room audio.

Control 4 I have no real opinion on other than what I see at CEDIA Expo every year now. A few years ago I interviewed with Control 4 and with Crestron, and I ended up going with Crestron since it is a waaay better designed product with infinite possibilities.
