Does anyone know how the standard exhaust is vented? The guy at the the appliance store asked when we went to buy a chimney range hood. He asked if it's vented directly outside or if it's connected to a pipe that eventually gets outside. We have the standard exhaust with the builder.

Have a look at the design of your house. Typically the range is against an outside wall. In this case it will be venter right outside. If the range is in the middle of the house it will be connected to a pipe that "eventually gets outside".

Guys, how high does the porch have to be for the builder to provide railings? Seems like most of us might not be getting one from what I understand.
