Default Prices on the rise again!

So I contacted my sales office yesterday to see if the prices on their homes had gone up or not. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my model has gone up 11k more than what I purchased it for last September with another 2k increase slated for this Saturday!

I'm just shocked since we're in a recession and all. Proof that the market in Ottawa is a little more stable than most—although not invincible.

It's just crazy to think how expensive towns are getting now!

I should have a price list of them all come next week and I will update the thread with said prices since I know there are a lot of curious Richcraft owners here.

You will see more activity on the real estate market soon, when fix rate morgages will go up (as Canada Bond is going up right now)... I still do not belief that it is end of recession, but it is a good sign anyway..

Wow, we'll I hope they don't go up until after June 2nd when I hit my 120 day mark!

We purchased our 1710sq ft interior unit townhouse for 261,900 back in September and it will selling at a base price of 274,900 this coming Saturday. Perhaps the rise in price has a lot to do with the fact that almost all the inventory units are sold now?

Insane!

Our model (semi) has increased by 22K since the end of March 2008. Not bad considering they haven't even started building the %#$&-ing thing. LOL

FWIW, there has been no change in Minto Avalon townhome prices since I purchased in September. In fact, the base price is unchanged and there is an occupancy bonus of $3,500.

Any price increases/variations I've seen have been related to the area of release (i.e. quieter street) and/or lot premium, not for the model itself.

I was talking to Kanata Estates sales office and she said that prices in that site will go up by 3K by end of this month. Frankly, in the past 3 weeks, I saw lots of cars at the sales office on Saturday and Sunday. Also, she said something to do with people asking for closing before June 30 when HST starts. I am not sure if that is true since as long as prices are less than 400K, HST has not effect.

Ours too went up in price since we bought in March for $393,900.. it's now $399,000. $6K in less than 2 months, not bad!

I am sure your current house has skyrocketed too. I get the pricelist next week so I will let you know if you're curious.
