I've done some research on these and although they seem to be a great idea, I'm not convinced just yet that it's the way to go.

I'll wait until they are more common in households to give them a try.

These heaters have been used in parts of Europe and Asia for years. They are just new to North America.

They are the way to go. You will never run out of hot water with this kind of heater, and you will not be wasting money to keep that large tank of water hot.

Unfortunately, our builder deals with OZZ, they want an outrageous price for these units (more then $3500 extra).

I know that these units have been used in Europe for years. I've personaly used one there, but although it seems you get instant hot water, with the way we North Americans are used to washing, showering etc. the demand for the water in some cases is too much for the unit.

Remember, Europeans have had many years of conserving. Also, some of their appliances (washing machines, dishwasher etc.) heat up the water inside the unit prior to operation, so their demand on the hot water is different than what we are used to.

I'm still of the opinion to wait until we can have the same amount of hot water through the tankless that we get from a HWT.
Just MHO. :D

Just MHO.
There are washers available from LG that have a heater in them, as well I believe there are dishwashers available from Bosch that have a pre-heater in them as well. Theyare a little more expensive though.
