Default Problems with Mason Windows

I posted here before about the poor quality and defects of Mason Windows and there were more people who complained about it too (even 3 years ago).
After a long battle with Mason (with them dragging their feet and many excuses) they replaced a few defective windows, with new ones that within 2 weeks had the same problem (cracking or fogging between panes).

We are trying to organize a group of 'unhappy customers' to put more pressure on them to stand behind their products.

We paid premium prices to have those high quality windows, Energy Star, e-2000, etc. We got windows that failed within the first year, and their replacement failed within 2 weeks, and still they won't take responsibility.

We would like to hear from other homeowners who want to join the group. (can send a PM)
I know there were many cases in Kanata and Riverside South.

The first couple Urbandale homes are going up in Cowan's Grove. I noticed they are using all Jeld Wen windows. Maybe they are done with Mason now??

Wow! Finally Urbandale got rid of this supplier. I know they got so many complaints about them, and I guess they had enough. There was virtually no response from Mason, they provide faulty products, customer service was non-existent and their website is off for over a year.
I assume we are stuck with those defective windows now - thousands of dollars in damage.

I would consider legal action.

IF Mason did shut their doors to avoid overwhelming repairs that could bankrupt them then they would not be the first window manufacturer to do that. I know of 2 other developments where this has happened leaving rows of homes with fogged up defective windows.

What a shame.

Mason hasn't shut their doors, they're still in business.

My neighbor has now been waiting 16 months to have their windows replaced and it's always excuse after excuse and if Urbandale actually cared about their customers they would just get someone else to replace the windows but they don't care as they already have the customers money. To me Urbandale is more to blame now then Mason as they could of had this all fixed but they don't give a rat's a$$ about their customers.

I agree with you 100%. It shouldn't have been us the homeowners fighting with Mason. Urbandale should have taken the responsibility to deal with their supplier.
Tell your neighbor not to expect too much - Mason (after over a year of delays) replaced a few faulty windows with a set of other faulty windows - 2 weeks after installation they were fogged. Not only that but they got us windows full of caulking and dirt between the panes, that you can't even clean. Not to mention the caulking / glue they spilled on the hardwood while replacing the windows. So frustrating!

Curious. At what point did the windows fail. After 2 years, one year, right away ???

got the house early summer and in the first winter got 3-4 windows cracked and a few fogged. Those were eventually replaced. Then the second winter about 12 other windows got fogged (and 1-2 cracked). Again, after a long battle we got a few of them replaced in late fall (almost a year chasing Mason).
This new batch within 2 weeks were all fogged.

As you see the saga goes on. The techs that came over to replace said it's a common problem in Mason windows, especially in RIverside South.

well we just had two window failures the last month from Mason. It says something when the foreman told me directly that if he was building his house, he'd never go through Mason himself.
