Default Missing Central Vacuum Wire

I have central vacuum rough-ins provided by my builder. The rough-in ends in the basement. One thing I noticed is that the Central Vacuum pipe (that ends in the mechanical area) doesn't have any wires with it. Although there is another central vacuum pipe right in the middle of basement and has the wires hanging with it. I guess this second one is to install Wall Inlet.... and the first one (with missing wire) in the mechanical area is for the actual central vacuum system. Is it normal to have that rough-in without the wires or builder has made mistake and there is actually a wire missing?

Here is the picture of the pipe without the wire.

Maybe it's not for your central vac but a direct conduit that goes to your attic. The conduit is for running cabling from the top floor to the basement area. I have one of these and I guess it can be considered the mechanical area as well.

^^What he said^^

The drop in your basement is probably from the upper levels.

Do you have a garage? Is there drops in the garage ceiling?

If so, the garage is where the unit gets installed.
