Tips? You need time. A lot of it.

Pick up a book called Sell Your Home in Canada, ISBN1-55180-599-5.

It will tell you everything to get you started as well as a bunch of the standard forms you will need.

You also need a lawyer to handle the transaction.

You also need a buyer who is comfortable working without an agent.

I ended up moving from private sale to an agent because I just ran out of time during the day.

Hi! Unfortunately I have to agree with Greg, in the end, you have to look at how much your time is worth.
From my banking experience, I know purchasers are shy to look at a fsbo, as banks are sometimes wary of the legalities of the contract.
From the bank's perspective, most fraudulent transactions are ones that surround a private transaction.....(I'm NOT accusing you of this!!)
BUT, it's just not as cut and dry.

You will also find that you just don't get the exposure of your home, as most agents will not bring their purchaser clients out to see a fsbo home.

Just my 2cents!

Or they will bring their clients out, but only after you agree to pay them 2.5% if their clients purchase the house.
