Homebuyer not getting full picture from protector Tarion

Thats a good read, haven't had to involve Tarion yet and shows how much they care for the home owner.

There are a few things which still haven't been completed by my builder that we wrote on the 30 day form. This was about 3 months ago. Builder told us this work was completed, yet no one came to our house. They still have until August and then Tarion will get involved lets see if they will step up.

That's probably the most in depth article I've seen on Tarion, let alone something from The Star that actually knocks the home building industry (of which much of their Saturday edition is all builder adverts).

Maybe I should create a section for Tarion related questions..

That's a good idea Greg. I know you have cautioned folks not to jump to conclusions and seek their lawyer's advice when it comes to builders and Tarion so I was somewhat hesitant to post the article but I did anyway as it comes from a respectable source e.g. the Star.

I think a section devoted to Tarion would be great.

I know I went into my consilation blind (and ignorant as to how in favour Tarion is to the builder).

It would be good to hae a discussion about how to present the deficenies in a way that will get a better response for the homeowner.

I think builders would hate to see a forum that is used strictly to gather and share information on Tarion, their rules, their decisions, and how to use them to get builders to correct mistakes.

That's why you should make one.

It's yet another example of an industry/profession regulating itself...we're full of those agencies in Ontario.
