Default front loader washer size for king size comforter

what should be the size of the front load washer if it has to handle one king sized fluffy comforter ? Anyone has experience washing these big bulky items, please share your experience. Also please mention whether the size you mention is the IEC measurement or not because I see that some of the washers (eg LG) size is listed in IEC measurements which seems to be bigger than the actual drum size.

We have the GE 5.1 top loader and it seems to fit the king size down duvet without it showing signs of stress... I originally wanted front loaders but got steered away from them because I wanted to wash king size duvets and apparently that's not really recommended for front-loads.
If you're just talking about just "fitting" one in, I could fit the duvet into a 3.4 but it did not do well LOL
If you're not married to front loaders, I totally recommend the GE, I've never had clothes softer and fluffier (I had no idea the washer even makes a difference)... you just load it with 4L of detergent and it does all the measuring for you, it weighs your clothes, dispenses the correct amount of detergent, you just have to turn it on, turn the knob to tell it what it is (towels, sheets, jeans, comforter, etc) and it even communicates with the dryer to tell it what it just did so you just have to start the dryer.

I've washed our king size duvet many times in our front load. It's a few years old so don't remember the exact size. It's a Whirlpool and guessing between 4.7 and 5.0 cu ft.

Any of the new washers should be able to handle it.

Thank you for your feedback. We have limited space for washer and dryer and hence we are going to stack them. That means top loaders are out of question. I am leaning towards LG front loader WM4270HVA 5.2 cu ft which seems big enough from what you guys said. The reason for choosing this particular washer is that we have limited depth in the laundry closet and this was the biggest washer I could find with good rating and minimal depth.

Oh...liking the GE laundry appliances. We have an older model of the Maytag large capacity top loader washer and we love it. With the new house we would be looking for something similar. Seems like this GE model fits the bill.
