Default Ikea by Whirlpool Nutid Microwave

I searched through Google and Youtube for how to remove a rivet on a door in an Ikea by Whirlpool Nutid microwave model IBMS1455WS. I can't find the repair manual nor a video on Youtube for this specific model.

I can't figure out how to remove this rivet. The other side has a ball end and a nut.

Anyone done this before?

TIA.

I dont think that is a rivet. Looks like the angle bracket and the 'rivet' are all one piece.

You should be able to unscrew the acorn nut.

Thanks good2know.

I brought the broken door to a hardware store and service guy confirmed that it is a rivet and that I'll just have to drill it out so I will. Hope I don't break the plastic arm.

Have you tried unscrewing the acorn nut?

It's not an acorn nut which I thought it was at first.

I was able to drill it out and now enroute to HD. Hopefully, i can find a nut and bolt combo rather than a rivet so it'll be easier to fix next time.

Closing off to say that I was able to fix the microwave but I had to remove the unit from the wall and open the right side of unit to properly install the plastic arm.

Thanks. But what I thought was a 30 minute job turn into a four hour one. Next time, I know that any repair to the unit will require the unit coming off the wall.

Now, the wall is back to how it should be.
