Slide in Range not sliding in...

Long weekend problem and nobody to contact to fix it. I asked the builder to prep my quartz for a slide in range and the 30 inch range just won’t go in. Has this happened to anyone else? Did they come back to shave down the quartz?

It took us about 45 mins to adjust each leg of our stove to level the slide-in properly.

I assume you did extend each leg so that the stove gets above your counter top. The instruction manual should explain how to do it for your specific stove. And also explain the gap allowance needed underneath the stovetop and the countertop. (ie. about 3/16th of an inch so that the stove top doesn't get damaged by sitting flush on the counter.)

Yes, they did adjust the legs. We’ve measured and the opening of the area is only 29. 25 and the stove is 30. Soooo close.

Your builder should have gone to great pains to establish EXACTLY what model your range is, so they can pull the measurements. There is no standard size they can use. Sounds like someone messed up, sorry...

If they don't take responsibility (usually it's on you to tell them the right size opening) you might want to look at returning and getting a range that fits..

We actually did sign a paper with measurements and paid for the upgrade.

Standard stove is 30 inches, 99% of units work with this. 3/4 of an inch is WAY off imo. Usually if its off its only by 1/8 or less and usually only at the back or front. Someone messed up

Your builder will fix it, but with the long weekend youll unfortunately to wait a few days

then you won't have an issue in my opinion. we had a counter top taken out because it was actually too long (their mistake) and stuck out into another room its was a two day thing for us - they took it out on one day and brought it back the next. worth it I was a little nervous as it weighed about 700 lbs and there were a few close calls - make sure your there when its removed and installed again
