Hi
We were going with 42" uppers but when the designer showed us the sample kitchen with the cross bar, we did not like the look. We decided to go the highest without needing the cross bars which is 39 inch with Richcraft. I can't find any pictures, the one I saw was in the design center, they have a kitchen with them. |

We are ordering 40" shaker cabinets but now after seeing the cross bar I am not too sure that I like it.
![]() ![]() Has anyone seen a full kitchen with shaker cabinets with cross bars?

Why are they putting cross bars on them?? Our kitchen supplier does not do this.

I DON'T LIKE THE CROSSBAR! Sorry JMO.
I have seen pics on grapevine/MLS but didn't save them. I'm guessing the crossbar is because the center pannel in the Shaker cabinets is quite thin - they probably need the cross bar to make the doors stiff enough. For me I would go with the largest posiible without the crossbar. |

Richcraft told us that if we go higher than 39 inch we have to go with the cross bar or they won't warranty the cabinets from warping...
I guess they had issues in the pass |

That makes sence then Nikka - Richcraft and Minto both use Potvin.

We ended up choosing the S100 cabinets from Potvin in Antique White, for our kitchen. If we do 40" there is no crossbar, if we do 42" there is... I think we'll end up going for the 40".

S100 is raised panel right? We got those in Antique White as well. Ours are short though - we have 8' ceilings

Here's the image:
http://www.potvinconst.com/media/.gallery/main26.jpg The standard is 36", so the 40" would be just a little bit extra. Biggie, what counters did you choose? Right now we have a brown granite formaica (not real grantie) but we still have to finialise everything in Dec... |
