1% GST return

Does anyone know how to go about getting back the 1% GST. Apparently we are to call Revenue Canada? Does anyone know the phone number?

Did you sign the purchase agreement before May 3, 2006?

If so, download the Transitional Rebate form and mail it to Revenue Canada.

We signed our agreement in or about September 2006, and it appears that Mattamy scooped the savings of the 1% cut as there was no change in the price. Did anyone else get the 1% savings after the new rate came in??

We received our nice cheque few months ago...went towards our 4 ton A/C plus few other small things

Actually, Mattamy did lower their prices (in Wheler's Mill anyways) after the transitional rebate came into effect. I noticed that their prices on the website went down because I was keeping a close watch on how much our model had gone up in price. I don't remember the exact month but I think that was before you signed in September 2006 so your purchase price probably would have taken into account the gst reduction.
