To be fair, the house price for new buyers in Havencrest is $13,000 higher than what you paid. I had to pay this increase when they reopened the site and still I didn't get current 15,000 bonus. I guess your deal is not that bad :-)

Im afraid that's not true. My model was $342,900 when I bought and its now $348,900. Not exactly 13k, to be fair.


For the record my math was:

Oct. 2012, pay 342,900-10k DC bonus-7,500 delay pay=$325,400

April 2014, pay 348,900-15k DC bonus-10k off price= $323,900


Its disappointing that's all, but such things happen......clearly the market is very different then it was 18 months ago. No shortage of inventory homes on every builders website, great time to buy no doubt.

You are right. I didn't check semis and bungalows at that time and guessed the increase was across the board. Hopefully Tartan can show some good gesture in your case.

I understand your disappointment but I don't think anyone could predict in 2012 what would happen in 2014. It'd be nice for Tartan to do something but I don't think they are obligated to do so.

My wife's boss also experienced delay for his home in Havencrest but he will finally move in this Oct. It's been a long ride for him and his family as well, hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.
