Thanks Guys, really good dialogue!

Before I reply to some of the question: yes, I am looking for a foundation expert! Any suggestions?

I see that some suggest there will likely always be some water coming into our house in our case - digging around was not an option, I think. In that case some suggest an inner drainage system to manage it (e.g. that interior perimeter drain system). Does anyone have any experience with this?

Lastly to the questions:
- Water is likely coming in through the new concrete wall and not the old stone foundation. the old stone foundation is 3-4 feet away from the leaks.
- When the contractor saw water coming in when they did it, they installed a sump pump hole in the corner and dug a drainage about 100 feet out, 15 feet down (the property slopes nicely).
- Yes we got the permits, the contractor was a basement "expert" that had done it before and the city (of Gatineau) said he was the "Creme de la creme" as they looked at the plans.
- Do you have Mike Holmes direct number?

Thanks again,
alex

Not sure you'd get anywhere with it but it's worth a shot!
