But to each his own.

Plastic Siding!!! If you look at Tamarack, Richcraft they are full front of Brick. Not siding everywhere.

Mattamy offers the option of brick as well...guess more Tamarack/Richcraft people are opting for brick!

Oh its an upgrade? I see. Tamarack and Richcraft it is standard, so is hardwood and ceramic tile.

Hi
My daughter lives in an urban townhome in the neighbourhood you are talking about. Except for a few initial minor construction issues that were delt with, she is very happy. There is no noise that she hears from either side and she loves the location. Would definitelt recommend this neighbourhood.

And that's why they charge you more with Tamarack and Richcraft. If you spend the money with Mattamy, you will get the same as well.

At the end of the day, it comes down to the location, community design and architecture/floor plans. The build materials are exactly the same for all builders and if you are willing to spend the money you can get anything you want.

The materials may be the same but the build quality and consistency may not be. Depends on many factors. I've heard from some contractors that they are rushed with Mattamy to finish their work. That "can" result in lower quality in some situations.

For what it's worth, a lot of Tamarack or Richcraft's full fronts of bricks are upgrades as well, not standard as you say.

When shopping for a home, we really liked the look of Mattamy's homes. I think they have some fantastic looking exteriors. (I love Tartan's Craftsman-style homes as well).

For us, there were a few horror stories we heard from a few friends, coupled by closing dates that weren't as firm as with other builders were the reasons why we didn't ultimately buy a Mattamy. With any builder though, there are going to be some issues.

It's interesting Mattamy home buyers paying less tend to claim they purchased Mattamy houses with the "exactly the same materials for all builders".
