We bought in June 2010, our original closing date was Sept.9/11, but now we have been pushed back to Jan 2012... but we are guessing we will be pushed back again to maybe March 2012 as they are only starting to service the land now.
We have friends that were supposed to be in May 2011 but have been pushed back to Jan 2012 also.
We live in Barrie and often do a drive by of the site... but never see much change, we are hoping to see some digging by end of September!
We are frustrated and just want to move in already!
How about you, did you just buy this year??

yes we just bought 2 weeks ago. our closing is june 2012. but i agree with you, it seems as if they will take a little bit longer. I was really hoping to get an earlier date. its ok though, i dont want to rush them.

We are very excited to move in, we are from Toronto and we hate the city life, way too busy.

by the way, thanks for the decor centre info, i had such a hard time finding it, there was no phone number.

what did you think of the decor centre? we didnt book our appointment yet but we went last saturday, i didnt find them to be very helpful, i really think that they should have more stuff on display at the sales centre so you have somewhat of any idea and plan towards the house you are buying instead of being surprised with everything at the decor place. Maybe its just us since we are a first time buyer we dont really know the process.

We went to the decor center a few times before our appointment, and I changed the counter tops everytime! I agree it would be nice to see the selections on a larger scale - one tile may look great but what about when there is a lot of it. Oh well I guess we'll see!
You can find out more info and prices through email. We wrote down items and questions then emailed the decor center when we got home. They were able to give you prices for upgrades etc based on your model - but it would take about a week for an answer.

I am itching to move!
Good luck with your selection process, a little overwhelming but exciting!!

Thumbs down

We made our purchase 2 years prior to our closing date for summer 2010. Needless to say, our closing date have been pushed back several times.

Initially, we were so excited about moving to Simcoe and our new home.
Now we are 'so busy waiting' for our house to be bulit and for our frowns to revert to smiles....but only God and Country Homes know when this will happen!!

I agree its EXTREMELY frustrating!
Our new closing date is now May 2012.
We drove by the site yesterday and there are curbs in now, and the roads will hopefully be started this week.... (so they say) but I don't want to get my hopes up. Nothing they have ever said has happened on schedule
We are hoping and praying the house is complete by May at the very latest as our house closes in 2wks then we move in with our in-laws till the new house is ready....AND we are expecting our first baby in May too so I would like to be in the new house before he/she makes and apperance.... I am not stressing....not yet anyways

This house better be spectacular when finished! LOL

LOL
But seriously, the house should be spectacular!
After dealing with the delays, we want to have complete safisfaction after we move in. We look forward to it being a happy occasion, with no complaints, where we can say "it was worth the wait". One can only hope this will be FACT

Congratulations on the expection of your new bundle of joy!
