Default Havencourt

Hi, we've just bought in Havencourt in Barrhaven and am looking to meet some of our new neighbours.

Anyone else bought in Havencourt?

Hi Wildunknown,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for starting a thread for our neighbourhood! I noticed that Havencourt is one of the only communities distinctly lacking a thread... until now. I suppose this is the nature of it being a smaller infill neighbourhood rather than a huge new development.

We bought a semi in Havencourt during the summer, but our closing is still pretty far off (October 2013). How about you?

Can't wait for our design appointment!

Oh, I should also mention that my wife and I are FTBs so we excite easily

Is Havencourt different than Havencrest? Where is it?

Hey Dan,

We bought a single up on Elm Park Dr. Closing is Jan 2014. We've owned a few houses, but this will be our first new build. I saw that they just released new lots across from the wood lot park on Via Verona the other day too. Looks like quite a few are already spoken for... That's a good sign. I'm hoping that means lots of kids in the neighbourhood.

Hey good2know,

Havencourt is different from Havencrest. Havencourt is between Longfields and the transit way, north of Berrigan. Right in the middle of Barrhaven.

I initially confused the two developments (Havencourt and Havencrest, that is). The names are a bit too similar. I believe Havencrest is near the entrance to the 416 near Strandherd. Unfortunately, what I've heard is that it is quite delayed (some issues with permitting and the city).

Yes, I did see the new lots released. Very exciting! Some seem to have been snapped up right away. The singles along Verona look like they will be hot commodities due to the woodlot view.

Just from my experience visiting the design centre, it seems like Havencourt is a real mix. There are young couples (like us), older folks, and families. I am sure there will be plenty of kids in the neighbourhood. The existing neighbourhood surrounding us is already full of kids. Every time I visited the site during the summer and fall months, there were children playing in the park between Edgeware and Harrow. The 'family appeal' is partly why we fell in love with the place.

We were at the sales centre again yesterday. The day they released the park facing singles, there were people lined up at the door when they opened.

I was worried that the houses beside ours were going to take a while to sell.

Great to hear Yodums. Welcome to the 'neighbourhood'.

We're up on lot 24. Where are you?
