How are they doing the outside corners?

Has anyone suggested adding joists or some structural support under this? Depending on direction of your floor joists this could all be sitting on the osb only.
What do you mean by outside corners?

FYI here is a pic of what it looks like currently

Ness - your choice turned out great very nice. I'm also considering doing some similar shelving on one or both sides....just not sure if it would look weird if I only went up part of the way (no need for shelves that are up high out of reach?). If I don't do the shelving, one thing I was pondering is whether I would need to also stone the side of the "feature wall" or just leave it as is...hmmm.

Do you mind sharing what the cost was for the shelving?
It was all pre-cut MDF board, I would say to do the whole thing (tile and all shelving plus all the little detailed boxes built) maybe $1000.
One option you could do if you didn't want to do shelving beside the fireplace would be to build seats on each side and make them storage boxes also (good for pillows or blankets).

I use Pinterest for ideas and then combine multiple ones to have my friend build things for me lol

Outside corners where the face meets the narrow side walls. Thinking you will want that to be stone as well to look like a real stone chimney.

We just did this in our front showroom this week.
Hired one of our basement renovator guys who did it all himself.
Stone was about $800.
Fireplace $550 (cheap electric and I don't need it to work)
MirrorTV $7500.
Labour about $1500 including painting the entire room.

$1000 to do that entire wall for materials and labour seems way too low. I did ours a few years back. Total cost for the stone, cement board, mortar, and ikea shelves was about $2500. I did all the work but I would say add that again if I was going to have someone do it for me.

Looks good!

Your wall looks about the same size as the one I am going to do. How many square feet of stone did you buy?

I'm only asking, because as I mentioned previously, I'm getting some high end stone, and the retail cost is only $12.00 a square foot from the place I'm buying it from. That's only $542 for 40 square feet of stone. Even at $20/square foot, you're still less than $1000 for the stone. Were those cabinets and mortar worth $1500???
