Default Preventing weeds to grow between patio cracks

Hello folks, we got quite a bit of weeds growing between the cracks separating the flowerbed and the patio stones. I am including a picture for reference.

My research indicates filling the cracks with polymeric sand can help address the issue but I am wondering if there are other suggestions. Is there different type of polymeric sand e.g can I just grab whatever available at Home Depot or do I need to get stuff from landscaping company? Thanks in advance.
