Default Tartan Westport Layout

Hello everyone;
Hope all is doing well.

My wife and I bought a Westport in Findlay Creek. The house was built in 2010 so it is the older design. The owners made few changes to the design:
- Kitchen island attaches from the back of the eating area instead of front.
- Sink faces eating area rather than family room.
- half wall separating the kitchen from family room.

My wife and I are wondering if you guys have ideas of how to layout the furniture in the family room. Our main concern is that we do not want to block the walkway leading to the family room. We were thinking of mounting the TV on the half wall and arranging the furniture accordingly.

I have attached some pictures and the original floor plans (does not show the modifications I described above).

Thank you so much for your help :-)

I would probably put the TV over the fireplace, then put couches on the two walls. It keeps the room open and might be better suited for tv watching as the tv would be higher up on the wall. Mounting a tv on your half-wall would make for low viewing and could be an eyesore when you came through the hallway.

I would put the TV where the mirror and console are and emulate the same furniture plan they have. That said, that TV will not be comfortable for watching...however it is not the best design if you don't want to have a sofa back facing the kitchen regardless.
